The affects that marijuana has on the body is almost nothing compared to other illegal drugs that are used in the world today. A drug is classified as any substance that alters bodily functions. Why when people hear the word drug, do they automatically think that it is going to be bad? Drugs can be some of the best things in the world. Now I know there are drugs out there that are completely bad for a person like cocaine and ecstasy, but marijuana is not one of them. Marijuana can be compared most to a cigarette that a person would smoke every day. The only difference is that marijuana is not an addictive drug like cigarettes. Cigarettes affect a person’s body by giving them the feeling of a buzz. After constant use of the drug, the person then never feels a buzz again, but there body wants the nicotine from the drug, so they keep smoking. Studies have proven that there are no addictive substances in marijuana if it is smoked. That means that if someone smokes the drug once a day for a whole year, and they decided that they wanted to stop, then they could stop at will. How is it that a drug that is not even addictive, and causes the same affects as alcohol, is not legal? Common side effects of using the drug include the munchies, a high feeling, and cotton mouth. There is absolutely no way to overdose on marijuana either like there is with alcohol. Thousands of people a year over dose and die using alcohol, but never once will that ever happen with marijuana.
I find your post to be very funny! I also agree with your stance on this issue. I don’t understand how cigarettes are legal but marijuana is not. As for the thought that the effects marijuana has on the body is almost nothing compared to other illegal drugs though, I’m not sure about that. While marijuana might not cause a person to be a drug addict, marijuana along with cigarettes have the potential of causing a person to develop cancer, which I believe is worse than an addiction. Even with that though, almost every substance in the world has the potential of becoming a carcinogen. So at the end of the day, we should either ban it all or legalize it. Honestly, it doesn’t matter to me whether if it is legalized or not, mainly because it’s not much of a difference from legal drugs. Anyway, good post:).
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you when you say that a lot of substances in this world can cause cancer. But I don't see why you could argue that's why it shouldn't be legalized when people die everyday from dipping, alcohol, and cigarettes, which are all legal. If you choose to do something, then you take into count the risks that come with it.
